Manipur

Manipur – Another of the numerous former princely States of the north east, Manipur had always been known for its valorous men who excel in martial arts. The men are good riders and pole is said to have originated here. The jagoi, the very graceful Manipuri School of dance had developed here.

Tourist Places in Manipur

Imphal – capital, on the famous road to Mandalay. Royal polo ground, royal palaces. War cemeteries.

Moirang – Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose raised the flag of Indian National Army for the First time on Indian soil here on 12 April 1944. The INA Museum has a statue of Netaji and memorabilia of his freedom movement. There is an ancient temple of the per Hindu deity Lord Thanging and festival is held in his honour every May.

Laktak Lake and Sendra Island - a huge and Beautiful stretch water, this lake is like a miniature inland sea.

Kaibul Lamjao – National park. The last natural habitat of the marsh dwelling brow- antlered deer.
