Meghalaya
Meghalaya – Meghalaya means the abode of clouds because this hill State is veiled in mist throughout winter. Inhabited by Garo, Khasi and Jaintia tribals, the State has a landscape of undulating hills, glens and meadows remarkably similar to the British lsles. Though many of the tribals are Christians today, age old beliefs and traditional lifestyle are still in sway here. Some of the major festivals are tribal in origin, associated with the ageless cycle of life.
