Pondicherry

Pondicherry – Redolent of French influence, Pondicherry is unique and different. The French connection, the serene atmosphere and the beach combine to make Pondicherry a fascinating destination. French is still a strong presence here- it is spoken fluently in the French part of the city dominated by the ashram, a residential school once stared by the Bengali revolutionary Shri Aurobindo Ghosh and to this day a unique experiment in education and spiritual life. Facing an immaculately maintained beach with a promenade this part of Pondicherry is tourist delight in its quaint tittle lanes, neat houses and tiny shops where life is totally unhurried.
