Rajasthan- Rajasthan is where the tales of velour and romance still where an image of fairy tale grandeur. This is the land of fiercely valiant men and woman who chose to die rather then face capture and humiliation. In this desert land exquisite palaces, temples and forts still dominate the skyline. Here the camels amble along, beautiful tall women in brilliantly coloured clothes and carved silver jewellery smile shyly and they still sing old romantic ballads of heroism and passion. It is a desert state of startling contrasts- rippling sand dunes and camels set off the other Rajasthan of deep blue lakes, palaces, gardens and pavilions in red, yellow, orange stone, game sanctuaries and forests. Special handicraft attractions are blue and glazed pottery, Rajasthan miniature paintings, Pichwai paintings, beautiful and distinctive hand printed textile, kota ware enamel, zari and galls embroidered clothes.

Jaipur – the poink city, is the capital. Palaces, jantar mantar the famous medieval observatory, museums Airport; Jaipur.
Amber- magnificent palace, fort cenotaphs.
Bikaner- an old Rajput capital city palaces. Temples, forts.
Ajmer- a Muslim pilgrimage centre, tomb of saint moinuddin Chisti.
Pushkar- Hindu place of pilgrimage and the site of the largest cattle fair in the world.
Mount Abu, Alwar – Hill stations.
Bundi, Chittaurgarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer – desert towns with forts.
Bharatpur, Ranthambher, sariska – bird and wild life sanctuaries.
Shekhawati regain – famous for ‘havelis’ or mansions of rich people. These opulent houses decorated with intricate and rich frescoes are scattered around Sikar, Fatehpur, Mukundgarh, Nawalgarh.
